Outsourcing: Bank of Ireland IT
Janet Howard, Pinnacle Director, and a team of four Pinnacle project managers
together with six Bank of Ireland project managers, successfully
completed a major outsource programme on behalf of the Bank of Ireland Group.
The Team managed this initiative from strategy development through a competitive
tender process, rigorous Supplier due diligence and ultimately contract completion.
The Bank outsourced the Group’s IT Infrastructure to HP and Network
Services to BT.
Press Release
Bank of Ireland and HP signed a seven-year, $600 million contract for global
IT services, one of the largest outsourcing deals ever in Ireland and the
United Kingdom.
Following a competitive bid process, HP was selected for exclusive contract
negotiation. An extensive due diligence phase was undertaken and relevant
regulatory approvals were sought and granted by the Irish Financial Services
Regulatory Authority and the Financial Services Authorities in the UK.
HP Services will manage the bank's entire IT infrastructure, including desktop
systems, servers, mainframes, local area networks, printing operations and
service desk. HP Services will help the Bank to minimize operating costs
and reduce volume consumption.
